Audio timing is now much more reliable if a slideshow is started somewhere in the middle. Fixed audio volume of a movie layer, that is not visible during whole slide lifetime. Fixed incorrect rendering of layer opacity, if visibility was restricted to a portion of the slide lifetime. Sharing assistant now warns you when chosen filenames contain illegal characters that could lead to problems down the road. These inconsistent states sometimes also caused failures to share a slideshow. Many edge case situations that led to inconsistent audio fades have been eliminated. Got rid of a layout glitch in the Stage when a slideshow is first openend. Got rid of a visual glitch where all Storyboard thumbnails would briefly disappear after saving a slideshow. Audio fades now sound similar in exported movies and live playback. Sharing for DVD now exports 48 kHz audio instead of 44.1 kHz. The ducking percentage textfield is enabled when needed. Color correction is reflected in Storyboard thumbnails. If a document window is obscured during fullscreen playback, various animations are now suppressed, to optimize playback performance. When an audio track is muted, then any ducking occuring in this track is ignored. When resizing a title width, the title now stays centered, which is a much nicer behavior. Average save times for large slideshows have been reduced from a minute to less than a second in most situations. Auto Save may be disabled in the Preferences window. Auto Save is now supported, thus freeing you from having to select the Save command repeatedly while authoring a slideshow. Layer opacity can now be changed, thus enabling many interesting transparency effects. Download a couple of sample slideshows here. Masks can be animated independently from the layer image, movie, or title. Layers can now have a mask, which lets you create interesting special effects. Some of these are available in the Pro version although that's obviously more expensive.įotoMagico is a very powerful package for creating stunning photo presentations. The only thing FotoMagico really lacks is advanced options for tailoring your slideshow. So for example, iPhoto libraries of photos show up correctly instead of a generic icon in FotoMagico. Most recently, FotoMagico has been updated to integrate much better with iPhoto. In addition, you can transfer them to your iPod or export them to QuickTime. I’m having save issues too so I’m reluctant to mess around too much. You can opt to burn DVDs of your slideshows, although the developer recommends using Roxio Toast for this. I’m afraid to do that because I spent so much time arranging the slides. Then added the slides if it would function correctly. In the mean time you either have a very sever bug or extremely poor design and functionality.Īnd I’m wondering if I started over and put the music in first. (the warning sign has no explanation anywhere easily found)Īs a work around I will probably just play with slide duration and toggle music looping on and off until I get the timing I want. When I shorten the song to it’s correct length, the triangle goes away. It appears to mean that the song has been stretched past it’s natural duration. I toggled looping on and off and now I get a little warning triangle at the end of the last song. I’m writing this as I am working so this message keeps getting longer as I collect more info. In the mean time I still have the 6 empty slide slots at the end to fill in from my last real slide to the end of the (now incorrectly looped) music. And the last song appears to start looping automatically (not set to loop). The slides change length and the whole program changes length. As a work around I though that I would just select all the slides and keep adjusting their duration until they reached the end of the music in the storyboard/timeline. I put the slides in first arranged them then dropped the music in (had to remove auto linking) Here are my specifics:ģ songs, 142 slides (but fotomagico has added 6 more slide slots with no slides in them and given me a total count of 148 slides) The music is locked but not linked. I’ve spend over an hour trying to get my slides to match the audio duration.
